Ali Nasseri

Welcome to my website! I am Ali Nasseri, an Associate Professor at University Canada West. With training in aerospace engineering, physics and business, these days I focus on bridging science, technology and business to drive innovation. I achieve this by teaching courses focused on project management, technology development, product development, organizational behavior and general management, and conducting research at the intersection of science and technology, and business, focusing on improving management practices, developing better products, and improving safety and quality.

Before joining UCW, I was an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream at the University of Waterloo, where I taught in the Science and Business Program. Prior to that, I was an engineer at the Canadian Space Agency with the Engineering Capability Development program. My other experiences include:

  • 3 years as an Executive Research Coordinator and Group Manager for the Programming Languages for Artificial Intelligence (PLAI) at UBC, led by Professor Frank Wood, where I managed a portfolio of projects, built collaborative research networks, and wrote proposals to secure funding for our research program
  • A year as instructor and coordinator of the Engineering Transfer Program at Selkirk College, where I taught engineering design and communication
  • Sessional and contract lecturer positions at UBC Physics and Astronomy, University of Toronto Physics, University of Toronto Engineering, McGill University Continuing Studies and Simon Fraser University’s Beedie School of Business.
  • Consultant in the areas of aerospace systems, project management and business strategy

I am always looking for new collaborators! Feel free to reach out if you have an idea or something we can work on together.
